Gongos, Inc. Recognized by Crain’s as “Cool Place to Work in Michigan”

Company makes reoccurring appearance on company culture-based list

Gongos’ deep-seated culture shines through with its third-time recognition as one of Crain’s Cool Places to Work in Michigan, as announced by Crain’s Detroit Business in partnership with Best Companies Group. As one of 75 companies selected, this biennial award recognizes Gongos for building an enviable workplace that includes flexibility, empowerment and effective relationships.

“Employee attraction, retention and engagement is a strategy that is built over time,” said Chris Carmean, Senior Director, People Engagement. “As we evolve as an organization, we ensure our company culture progresses along with us, all the while adding new diverse talent to our team.”

Gongos nurtures its positive and trusting environment with communication, collaboration and transparency as key drivers in its culture. The company establishes a “safe place” for its employees to speak their minds—from asking about revenue and profit to requesting a toaster oven in the employee lounge, no topic is ever taboo or overlooked.

So, what else makes Gongos so cool?

Gongos works with your schedule. Instead of being a road warrior during rush hour, begin the workday between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. And if it’s Tuesday morning, dedicate more think time for passions and projects during “No Meeting Tuesday Morning.” Gongos appreciates its people and loves offering special perks as a reward. For instance, employees can work in the comfort of their home one day a week after being with the company for a year.

The company also has a passion for giving back to the community. While Gongos began its charitable initiatives in 2007, it formalized its community outreach program Gongos Gives in 2011. Created by company founder John Gongos, its mission is to support those in need while offering ways for its employees to immerse in and create a lasting impact in the community, inspiring change for the greater good. Recently, the Gongos team joined together with fellow colleagues, families and friends to plant trees in the Shaftsbury-Margareta neighborhood in downtown Detroit.

Understanding the importance of organizational growth and career development, Gongos offers a wide range of in-house trainings to help further expertise and skillsets. The people of Gongos believe in cultivating innovative and vibrant experiences that inspire people to achieve their best for their clients, their community and each other.
